WARSAW GHETTO, POLAND ---JEWISH GHETTO POLICE ARM BAND EARLY 1940's

Probably the "Darkest" item from all my various collections. This is an armband that had to be worn by Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II when Poland was under Nazi Occupation. These "ghettos" were in many of the larger towns and cities under Nazi occupation, restricted regions in towns or cities where Jews were confined until they were transported to a concentration camp to be gassed and burnt. This particular armband was worn by a Jewish ghetto policeman in the Warsaw Ghetto who himself would have ended up at Auschwitz when the ghetto was dissolved before the end of the war. Failure to wear this armband meant severe punishment usually immediate excecution.I put this up for HISTORICAL INTEREST only.. I am not a Nazi sympathizer.
