Maison Tropicale

Maison Tropicale (1949-51) by Jean Prouve. Jean Prouve designed these flat-pack houses for use in colonial West Africa. This example was was originally erected in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo in 1951, and then re-discovered in the year 2000, and restored. It's being exhibited here outside the Tate Modern in London as part of a joint exhibition of Prouve's work with the Design Museum.
