Long-nosed Chimaera

The Long-nosed Chimaera. This is a cartilaginous fish endemic to temperate and tropical oceans around the world. It is typically found at depths of between 660-6600 feet (200-2000 meters). They range in length from 2-4.5 feet (60-140 centimeters). They are known for their elongated snout. They do produce a mild toxin; but it is not considered dangerous to humans. They feed mainly on small fish. #ourbreathingplanet
