The Divine Healer, Baltimore, MD

A copy of Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen's "The Divine Healer" stands in John Hopkins Hospital's central administration building in Baltimore, Maryland.

The 10.5 foot high sculpture is a copy from 1896 and is carved from a single block of white Carrara marble by the Director of the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen, a Professor Stein. Stein took 9 years to complete the copy.

Thorvaldsen's original sculpture, "Christus Consolator," dates from 1820 and stands in the Vor-Frue-Kirke, in Copenhagen.
