Viva Voce: A Levantine Music Night
Viva Voce, literally ”with the living voice”, is a performing arts night that weaves together the inspiring work of a select group of Montreal’s most innovative artists. Our second edition, a Levantine Music Night, featured Didem Başar on the kanun, Suad Bushnaq on the piano, and Ali El Farouk on the oud and guitar. The trio performed their original compositions and new arrangements of traditional music from the Levant in the heart of the gorgeous Café Aunja. This East meets West performance by some of Montreal’s finest musicians took place on Friday January 24th, 2014.
