Stranger 61/100 'Bob'

Posed street portrait taken for my 100 Strangers project in Glasgow, Scotland.
This is Bob. I had just finished a fantastic day with my attendees of the Street Photography Workshop in Glasgow and was feeling as high as a kite having seen them grow and develop in confidence with my tuition and coaching during the day. I saw Bob and took a candid shot which was a complete failure as I had swung around from facing into the light to facing away from it and clicked the shutter more in hope than expectation.
Further down the street I saw Bob again and approached him to ask if he would like a portrait. Once he was assured that it would cost him nothing he was happy to pose for a few shots but only had a few moments spare. He was on his way to play the saxophone on stage. It was when he mentioned this I realised that I had photographed him informally before, in 2016, playing on Buchanan Street. flic.kr/p/HXsw41
We didn't have time to relocate away from the harsh sunlight so I decided to try and play with the harsh lighting in the shot. Bob, who is originally from Scotland and was home visiting his family, now lives in Mexico. During shooting and conversation he made this gesture - I missed the shot but asked him to 'do that again' and this was the result. I love it!
Sadly I didn't get Bob's email address but I did give him my card and details so if he gets in touch I will send them to him. Not my best piece of photography but such a fascinating face and character I had to include him in my project here. Thanks Bob!
