RIBBLEHEAD PEAK! | by Malvern Firebrand

Peak class 45041 "ROYAL TANK REGIMENT" sits in Ribblehead Quarry waiting for loading to finish. It will then run to Blea Moor before running round and returning south. I seem to recall that it would have been heading for Hunslet in Leeds but could easily be wrong.

I suspect identification of the loco for the more knowledgeable will not be difficult as it is named and the platework on the nose seems unusual.

The date is Spring in either 1982 or 83. By the looks of it there is the usual eclectic mix of wagons visible 'catfish', 'dogfish' and 'sealion' - I wait to be corrected!
