Neocaridina hofendopoda

    Newer Older

Not sure if these shrimps are N. hofendopoda, but they were abundant in the partially dried out streams in and around some villages south-east of Guilin.

Most of Atyidaen shrimps from Guangxi are known only from their respective type localities. Distribution and ecology are, as with freshwater crabs, mostly ignored, although some of China's freshwater shrimps are of economic interest and harvested both for aquarium trade and food purposes.
