Not sure if these shrimps are N. hofendopoda, but they were abundant in the partially dried out streams in and around some villages south-east of Guilin.
Most of Atyidaen shrimps from Guangxi are known only from their
respective type localities. Distribution and ecology are, as with
freshwater crabs, mostly ignored, although some of China's freshwater
shrimps are of economic interest and harvested both for aquarium trade
and food purposes.
