SpiderLift in Church
As the stonework at high level inside the tower dried out after a very wet winter, efflorescence (a salty surface deposit) became a real problem as it broke off when dry, and settled onto the pews below as a fine white powder.
The solution was to remove it with a stiff wire brush: but access 15 meters up inside church was a problem.
So, to avoid constructing an expensive scaffold, the latest hydraulic plant was hired-in, and after the expenditure of much elbow grease up aloft the problem was solved (until the next time!).
