Inside view of Greyhound Lines MCI 102DL3 #6909 on Schedule 8308 San Francisco-Reno, at the Oakland stop while some passengers take a quick break.
This is seen from Seat 5, right second row, so it doesn't show the entire interior but gives a clearer view of the back.
This bus was built in 2000 and later rebuilt. It has 51 Amaya Patriot PT leather seats pitched at 36", but some seats have reduced or increased legroom to due various fixtures within the bus. The door to the left is the wheelchair door, not for regular passengers.
The actual bus is much longer than it appears here, at 45'5'', or 13.84m. Also, while the seats look like school bus seats, they are much more comfrotable compared to the new buses and even doable for a transcontienental ride.
Unlike the newer seats, these seats are designed with a curvature at the waist which makes the legroom feel more than 36" and if you recline the seat, it barely disturbs the passenger behind you, even if you recline to the very pronounced full angle. Plus, the pillow headrest feels like a real a pillow and makes sleeping easy. There is also an excellent rounded footrest.
I was very surprised to see this bus parked in San Francisco when I went there to board it. The 102DL3 almost never operates in California.
Brightened to get a better look at the seats.
