Abalone Shell Interior
This is the interior of an abalone shell that I'm documenting for my sister.
I propped this up a little so that I could shine a strobe through the holes at the upper left of the shell. That strobe was a SB600 in a softbox, and I balanced it with an SB700 in a softbox in front of the shell to throw some light on the interior. The strobes were in manual mode, and I adjusted them until I got a look I liked. Strobes were triggered by the pop up flash of my D90 in commander mode.
Other shell pictures that I've taken, using strobes, can be seen in my Shell set. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157626043932290/
This looks best when viewed large on a dark background, and you can see it that way by pressing "L".
