Another view of the same feather that I posted yesterday. This feather came from a peacock at the Leo J. Carrillo ranch, which is a city park in Carlsbad, California. There are a large number of pea fowl roaming the property, and my wife bought some feathers at the visitor center. The males are very beautiful, but I wouldn't want to live close to any of them, as they are extremely noisy.
I lit this with an SB600 behind the feather for backlighting, and an SB700 in a softbox camera left for detail. Strobes were in manual mode and were triggered by the pop up flash of my D90 in commander mode.
