Cliff Swallow, hatch year young

Below cliff side near Hauser Dam on the Missouri River, northeast of Helena / Lewis and Clark County, Montana

 

This very recent young Cliff Swallow apparently had fallen out of the group of Cliff Swallow nests located on the cliff side above where it is resting on the sandy road and is not quite ready to take wing.
