This is reason number 898734988748394 why I love old architecture.
This is the Stewart Title Building in Galveston. It's a beautiful Renaissance Revival building in the North Italian mode. Completed in 1882, this historical landmark for downtown Galveston was home to the Kauffman-Runge firm.
Kauffman-Runge, once the world's foremost cotton exporters also brought many settlers to Texas. In 1905, Maco Stewart bought the building and founded the largest Texas Title Insurance Company in the state.
