Finished Bachelorette Party Cupcakes
Today, I held my first ever cupcake baking and decorating class. It was a lot of fun but not so sure I am ready to offer them as part of the biz.
This was for a group of 7 young French gals who wanted to do something fun and different for their friend who is getting married in 2 weeks. Learning to bake cupcakes was stop #1 on their all-day bachelorette party celebration.
We baked a batch of Martha Stewart one-bowl chocolate cupcakes -- it's the easiest recipe I know. I taught them how to make 2 different types of flowers with marzipan as well as vanilla and chocolate buttercream and demonstrated different frosting techniques. Then they decorated to their heart's content.
Once the cupcakes were ready, their plan was then to take the cupcakes and sell them in the street - the French come up with some really funny things to do for "hen" parties including dressing up the bride to be. In this case, they disguised her as Bree from Desperate Housewives wearing a wife-beater, pearl necklace, apron which read "I'm a Desperate Housebride" and red wig which she is not wearing in these pics due to the 85 degree heat.
Thanks for the memories girls, it was a lot of fun!
