Mussolini's main construction within Rome's city walls is the complex surrounding the mausoleum of the emperor Augustus. This inscription on one of the buildings commemorates him, "Mussolini Dux", as having torn down the buildings and narrow streets to free the Mausoleum from its overbuildings.
