Porsche 917 LH - 1971
The long tail version of the Porsche 917 is constructed especially for the 24-hour race and is one of the fastest racing cars Le Mans has ever seen.
Compared to the short tail version, the long tail is about 64 cm longer. It excels with a drag coefficient of less than 0,30.
Thanks to its outstanding aerodynamics, the car reaches 387 km/h on the long Mulsanne straight in 1971. But despite its extended rear, the Porsche 917 LH does not achieve any overall victory.
