I have been waiting to see the completion of this project. I love it!!! May I ask how did you hide the knot on your work?
  • Victoria Gertenbach PRO 6y

    Thanks very much, everyone!

Crazy Knitter, I double knot my thread, and working from the backside pull it through the back fabric and the batting, hiding the knot inside the back of the quilt. I finish by doing the same. :0)

This looks fabulous, and I love the effect of the hand quilting. It shows that handquilting is definitely worth the effort for such an outstanding result!

I just FMd you about what thread you used and then I saw the above...duh....ok...here's another question....how much of that thread did you have to buy to finish it?:)

And that's machine quilting between each right or is that TOTALLY hand stitched?;o
  • Victoria Gertenbach PRO 5y

Ha! Duh to me, too... I just emailed you back before seeing this comment!

Yes, it's machine quilting between each of the hand quilted rows. The machine quilting was done first, and because of it, no hand basting or hoop/frame was needed for the hand quilting, which was nice, as I find them cumbersome. I'm not exactly sure as to how much thread I used, but I can tell you, (if my memory is correct) that I only needed one spool of each color, and had thread left over. (I used 3 different colors.)

    Hope that helps!
