Grant its not an arward wining shot but it's one which I'm happy with. This beautiful 3rd winter Yellow-legged Gull was a long awaited reward to find on my patch of Birkenhead Docks which is located in Wirral, England.
Despite seeing thousands of Yellow-legged Gulls when I go and visit family in Spain, whenever I come across a possible bird here in the UK I'm always a bit anxious to put news out as there a bit of a rarity round my next of the woods. So when I come across a candidate like this I'll always get someone else to give there thoughts and this case it was a call to good friend Mr Frank Osterberg down in London for his view on the bird and he thankfully agreed in my identification of a 3rd winter Yellow-legged Gull. It's a few decades since there's been one of these record on patch!
