Text on the top banner reads "The Sunday Herald's $50,000.00 prize exhibition admission free entrance." The one below it reads "Park Sq. Roller Skating Rink." The banner to the right reads "Sunday Herald prizes admission free." To the right of the Station the back of the Thorndike Hotel can be seen on St. James Avenue. The Motor Mart Garage is on the left side of the image directly behind the Emancipation Group statue. To the left and behind the Station is the Park Square Automobile Station at 43 Columbus Avenue. In the foreground is the Emancipation Group statue by Thomas Ball with the figures of Abraham Lincoln and a freed slave based on Archer Alexander, the last man captured under the Fugitive Slave Act.
