Torgoyle Bridge - Glenmoriston Scotland

One of the joys of travelling from Inverness (via Loch Ness-side) to the Isle of Skye is the A887 road through Glenmoriston (from Invermoriston to the junction with the A87 road at Cluainie dam).

Nowadays much of the A887 is double-track but in my days in the mid-70's as a young cop stationed on the Isle of Skye who travelled home by car to Inverness on days off, it was a nightmare as it was almost entirely single-track with passing places.

One bit which is still single-track is this hump-back bridge, and you will notice there is a sharp right hand bend as soon as you come off it (heading west) , but its approach from the east is no better, coming round a sweeping tree-lined left-handier with no view of the bend or bridge.

Just out of this shot (taken through the bus front window) is one of the few remaining public telephone boxes.
