"What do you say to an angry 300-pound baked potato? ~~~ Anything.... just butter him up" ~
My hubby's latest quilted project is a "Baked Potato Bag" that you put in the microwave and cook 2-4 potatoes in 4 to 8 minutes!!!
We tried it out last night for the first time and works!!!
He designed and made the baked potato, sour cream & butter by hand and then applicated it on the ladybug material before sewing it all together.
I am very proud of him :)

Disclaimer for Potato Bags: Please use the Potato Bags according to your microwave instructions and do not leave bags unattended when using. There have been reports of scorching in some of the newer more powerful microwaves with higher wattage. The use of these designs does not imply that I ensure the safety of these bags. You must determine for yourself if they are safe to use in your microwave.
1. Use only cotton fabric, cotton batting, and cotton thread to make your baked potato bag.
2. Use a microwave with a turntable, not one of the older models, so it doesn’t develop hotspots.
And here are some instructions you can print and place inside the bag to tell people how to use it:
BAKED POTATO BAG
This simple bag creates a "just right" baked potato in your microwave. The inside is well done, yet moist, and the skin remains tender. The bag will cook one to four medium sized potatoes at once. Simply wash and dry your Potatoes. DO NOT PRICK!! Wrap the potatoes in a paper towel and place in bag. Microwave as instructed by the microwave manufacturer.
Time will vary per microwave.
When serving, do not cut with knife, simply use a fork. potatoes will be very fluffy.
Let the bag air dry. ENJOY!!
Other uses for the Baked Potato Bag:
Use your Potato Bag for sweet potatoes, carrots and many root vegetables too!
Reheat stale or day-old breads, biscuits and rolls or tortillas in your Potato Bag. Just microwave approx. 20 seconds inside the bag and they are yummy and fresh tasting once again!
Health and spa therapy workers are using the Potato Bag for HOT ROCK treatments. (and you can do it at home) Boil the large flat rocks in water on the stove and quickly put into the bag. You'll have warm radiant heat for sore muscles that is much safer than a heating pad.
Try the Potato Bag as an Instant ice pack holder. Slip a baggy with ice inside, and flip over the cover and the ice stays perfectly in place! The insulating quality of the bag keeps the ice colder longer too.
A handy way to pack jewelry or make-up for trips and keep everything neat
in the Potato Bag.
Use your Potato Bag as an instant potholder... in a pinch!
