a long way from home?
Now then, this wildlife photography is quite new to me and I don't know that much about birds but I spent a good twenty minutes in the freezing cold watching a group of robins chasing each other around and the usual ducks and coots and swans on the ice. Then I saw a couple of these guys chasing around, I thought they were sparrows at first but realised they were something a bit different.
When it came to ID them it would seem they could be rare Little Buntings (male in winter colour). (Ref: page 396 RSPB Complete Birds of Britain & Europe).
I may be wrong, please let me know!
I saw them at Fairburn Ings RSPB Reserve near the Lin Dike car park ... 7th Feb
