The Quay, Harwich, 14 February 2009
Apologies for the grainy phone camera, but I needed to upload this to explain the bizarre geography of my local area. I had taken my point'n'shoot but had forgotten to insert a memory card.
So, this is taken from the Quay at Harwich.
To the left, over the River Stour, is Shotley, where I live and where many of my pictures are taken - frequent viewers will note that on the right, you can see some large container ships, which I usually photograph from Shotley beach (roughly where the 'X' is on the notes).
For a completely different perspective of Felixstowe and Harwich from Shotley see this picture: flickr.com/photos/omcoc/3206352013/in/set-72157594210811400/
Shotley, as you can see, is not very far from Harwich. But the cycle ride was a 52-mile round trip. Stupid non-floating bicycles.
