Buzzards Roost, South Mountains, 11/22/15
Photos from a hike with Christy and the dogs to Buzzards Roost, the highest point in the South Mountains. We parked at Sisk Gap but could've driven farther, as the gate was open for hunting season. Most of the hike was on the dirt road, but the off-trail portion of the hike required crossing 3 summits, each way. The view from the overlook on the east side of Buzzards Roost isn't as good as I remembered it because the surrounding trees have grown up. You can still see the Black Mountains, the Catawba Valley, and Linville Gorge though.
