Clapper Rail - Adult - 7151

The adult Clapper Rail, now with the new scientific name of Rallus Crepitans, ventured out of the marsh vegetation to check on the less wary chicks that were exploring the mud nearby. Carolina Creek, Cosey Beach Ave., East Haven, CT (see map).

The western Clapper Rail, now re-named Ridgeway's Rail, is more warmly colored on the underparts.
