The site of a London horse tram depot

In 1873 the North Metropolitan Tramways Company opened a depot at the north end of the Holloway Road, Highgate, London. It closed in 1906 or 1907 following takeover of the company by the London County Council and conversion of services to electric operation - for which a huge new depot was built a little way south at Holloway. However 106 years later the track leading in to the depot is still there! Nothing seems to survive of the depot itself though. Note the height of this passageway through the buildings - you would never have got a closed-top double-deck vehicle through here.
