Inspiration (Explored)
Praised for hosting the best view in all of Bryce Canyon National Park, Inspiration Point (at 8,143 feet) is one of the most popular vantage points along the western rim of Bryce Canyon.
The family was tired from a long day of hiking. After dinner they were ready to kick up their feet and rest awhile but I had different plans. I knew that each sunrise and sunset couldn’t be wasted. So I drove out to the furthest part of Bryce Canyon on the rim, Inspiration Point. It’s only 1.5 miles from the visitor center and such an easy jaunt from the car parking lot. I must say this park is truly an easy one to get around. Each parking area is just a short distance from a trailhead or rim viewpoint. I spotted a couple of different lookout points as I raced up the hill and finally settled in for this one at sunset. The clouds were building to the West so I wasn’t able to get any blue hour photos that evening that were worth posting. This is really just your standard shot of standing at the rim and taking the shot but I’m happy with it because it has a nice mix of dark and light contrast areas in the hoodoos. There is just a massive area of Pine Trees in the middle of the park which I thought was quite interesting.
It reminded me alot of Glacier Point in Yosemite with its wide sweeping views. I’m sad that my family missed this area but I have to say that my face was all smiles that evening and my shoes were the color orange from all the hiking we had done.
