Pines and Hoodoos Oh My
I hiked the Navajo trail to the bottom of the amphitheater of Bryce Canon to look up at these towering Pine Trees growing majestically out into the wild blue. It was fascinating to see them thriving between the orange hoodoos. Nature finds a way I presume is the lesson of the day.
The Navajo trail is a short 1.5 mile heavily trafficked loop that starts at the top of the rim, winds its way down through switchbacks to just turn around and climb a different set of switchbacks through the Wall Street portion of the National Park. I remember seeing a National Parks video narrated by Robert Redford a year or two ago and knew I had to visit Bryce. The three people in the segment were running up the Navajo Trail without a care in the world. I was definitley not running back up but I was for sure enjoying the view and savoring every moment.
