The infamous Cliff Drive in Kansas City. This stretch of road overlooks the city and is Missouri's only Scenic Byway which was established in 1895.
"At Cliff Drive, you can find nearly five miles of paved road that winds around beautiful rock and forested landscape. Every weekend, the Drive is open only to bikes and pedestrians looking for a unique path that’s conveniently located at the North end of Kansas City, but feels like a whole other world."- office website.
I have tried numerous times to find this road open to motorists and on this fortunate day I finally found the eluded pot of gold. I drove it the first time and didn't come away thinking that I captured anything prominent or worth posting. I decided in my better judgement to drive it again and this time to stop and smell the roses. I stopped at every turn and bend in the road. I got out of my car and fully appreciated the beauty of this area. I'm so happy I did it for a second time. It was worth the wait. I hope all that live in KC can find this location and take the time to fully enjoy it. Good luck on finding it open to cars during your visit.
