Harald Fairhair (3)

The viking Harald Fairhair (Norwegian: Harald Hårfagre) became the first king of Norway when he won a naval battle in the year 872 which resulted in the unity of Norway into one kingdom. (Battle of Hafrsfjord.) This statue is found in Haugesund, close to where he is assumed to be buried and also not far from Avaldsnes where he had his main royal estate.
