Western honey bees (Apis mellifera)

    Newer Older

Western honey bees have taken over the top one third of a fence post on Turri Road. The three side facing the sun are approximately one inch thick and seem to be right at home. Can be seen in Wikipedia Commons commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Kevincole_-_Western_hone...

Ok, you started out with one bee and photoshopped the rest in, right???

Interesting pattern, especially in larger view. I see you kept your distance at full 500 zoom!

This gives some hope as I went to a workshop, and they said that the African Bees were about to take over. Very interesting photo. Glad you used your 500 mm.

Brilliant close up. Was it a swarm or a frame?
