It's a tiny little penguin, whose head is about 1cm wide.
Oh, and his name is Spacey. :-)
Setup and lighting
Very simple, just one flash in a softbox fired by radio trigger - but there's a photo of an almost identical setup in the first comment, below, in case it's helpful.
The little penguin was set on an A4 piece of textured silver card, lit from directly above by a hotshoe flash in a 60x60cm softbox.
Clamped to the back edge of the softbox was an A3 piece of light blue paper. It is the reflection of this paper that you see in the silver card.

Shot as JPEG, the only processing was to clone out a little piece of fluff (this is a close-up, after all) and a Curves tweak for white point and contrast.
