The best curries town
At last! After years of frustrating dining in Indian restaurants where we got (for an exorbitant price) a bowlful of processed, bland gravy with a couple of lumps of meat and all dishes tasting the same . . . Chris and I discovered a place that sells authentic curries in Auckland. The flavours were distinct, the masala freshly ground. My choice was goat and spinach curry, beef and potato curry and a chicken curry. Chris chose curried meatballs, and two different chicken curries. Yum!! Price: $NZ12. Country of origin: Pakistan.

There are also two excellent spice shops (including our favourite Sri Lankan one) in this 'little Asia' enclave. Well worth a visit
