Surreal Bokeh

These are tiny LED lights that change color every 20 or so seconds in a pitch black room with mirrors at the Phoenix Art Museum. Our dear Janet is featured in this one again. There are three images of her---one that is real and two that are reflections. The extra light was provided by someone opening the exhibit's door to walk in or out; otherwise this shot would not have occurred.


I took about 10 shots of these lights and each one is very different. I especially liked the fact that I caught a person in the room to give it some context in this shot. Unique bokeh is provided by the fact it's very low light, very long exposure and no tripod :-). The effect is one where the lights are multiplied by both the jiggle of the camera and the changing of colors and lights in a 5 seconds exposure.


The exhibit is called "You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing Swarm of Fireflies" by artist Yayoi Kusama.
