Little Star Pizza, San Francisco

I'm as loyal as the next guy to Zachary's Pizza (I've been going there regularly for almost ten years), so I was skeptical of the Little Star hype. One bite into this and I was convinced that this is at least Zachary's equal. This right here is a large Little Star - the toppings are spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and ricotta cheese.

I will say that I know plenty of people that don't like Zachary's because they don't like excessive tomatoes. At Little Star, it's more balanced with the toppings. The crust is also sprinkled with garlic powder, which is tremendous.

Yes, I have been to Chicago. I've had Giordano's, Geno's, and all that. Maybe it's just the Californian in me, but I think this holds its own against any of those.
