Sisters rE-HUnited....for the first time?

Yes I know, I should drop the terrible puns and stick to the day job.....

Although linked by their similar registrations, these two started and finished their 'Bristol' careers in opposite areas (and in all probability never met until this photo, unless someone has evidence to the contrary....)

373 was new to Cheltenham District (and was originally dual-door) but finished up with Badgerline, whilst 388 was new to the parent Bristol Omnibus Company and was transferred to the Cheltenham and Gloucester Omnibus Company upon the breakup of B.O.C. in 1986.

Here the two sisters compare notes at the Hengrove Bristol Bus Rally in, I think, 1993; 388 was by this time part of that most interesting of fleets, Shaftesbury and District, whilst 373 was perhaps an unusual purchase for W.T.T.S Training who were based in Weston-Super-Mare.

388 has long since departed to the other RE heaven (not the one at Wells depot in the early 90s) but 373 did make it into preservation - indeed I did ride on her at the Stroud Running Day some years ago, but Rob Sly's site indicates that she is currently engineless so not sure what the future holds for this lady.......
