House of Tomorrow
I don't include pictures by other people in my flickr stream very often, but decided to make an exception because I'd never seen this photo before and thought it was important to share.
Robert Doisneau visited Palm Springs in November of 1960 to do a photo essay for Fortune magazine on the golf courses and high-society life in Palm Springs. He approached this assignment in much the same way as if he had been sent to document the bush tribes of some remote, east African region.
Here's a photo of the House of Tomorrow still under construction (it would first be the Palm Springs residence of Bob &Helene Alexander, and later the home of Elvis &Priscilla Presley. It was designed by William Krisel. I'm not even sure Bill has ever seen this photo, but I'm going to send him a copy to ask.
