Eve and the serpent, Waltham Abbey

The only remaining fragment of a stained glass window at the west end of the north aisle, Waltham Abbey parish church. The rest of this window was a victim of the V2 which fell nearby during the second world war. Originally the window depicted women of the Old Testament: Bathsheba, Rebekah, Esther, Miriam, Sarah, and the Queen of Sheba. The glass is/was by Lavers and Barraud.
