Ascension, Waltham Abbey

All that's left of a stained glass window at the west end of the south aisle in Waltham Abbey parish church. The rest of the glass succumbed to the V2 that fell nearby during the Second World War.

This Ascension scene was originally the last in a sequence comprising the adoration of the shepherds, Christ's burial and resurrection. The glass is by Ward and Hughes.
