Jackson's chameleon

Trioceros jacksonii. One of the many invasive lizards found in Maui. These are native to Africa. This one was easily a foot long. Spectacular, but they eat native species including baby birds. I found this big fellow sitting near the trail in a botanical garden. I thought it was a realistic plastic fake someone put there as a joke, but then its eye swiveled and looked at me!
