dreamscape (Explored #1)
As a small child, there is a time when your mind is completely free to wander wherever it chooses. A time when every experience seems especially vibrant. Where colors are brighter and sounds more clearly heard. A time when your thoughts have not yet been shaped and moulded into neat little packages to be stacked and arranged in some logical order. Where fantasy and reality smudge together in an inseparable blur.
Don’t you miss that? That time when superheroes were real and monsters really did live under the stairs. But you can have that again, you know- at least briefly- just stop what you’re doing for a second and take a minute or two to climb the stairs*. Crack open the door a little and step inside………
*disclaimer: if you happen to be in charge of monitoring something important at the moment, then you probably shouldn’t do this right now. Explaining that you’ve “climbed the stairs” to live out your fantasy at the request of a random photographer on Flickr isn’t going to be a great defence when things go wrong. Nor will it get the 200 gallons of toxic waste now poisoning the local watercourse back in its tanks.
Technical: Burnham low lighthouse, a dash of moonlight, 405 seconds at f/11. Multiple filters. Broken ankle in a cast. Incoming tide across the mudflats. Swearing.Lots of swearing.
