The Mason House c 1872 Brick Italianate Located in Carriage Town Downtown Flint Michigan!

Built by Mr Mason c 1872,a Flint Mayor and Druggist. BEAUTIFUL home which as of 2009 is undergoing a restoration.

Very solid, and with most decorative, very stylish barge boards.
The canted bay on the ground floor is typically British Victorian - a very common feature of houses from that period here in blighty (the U.K.)
The stone built cellar, however, is not in the least British.

Field stone foundations were pretty common back then...they simpley went out into the fields and collected stones as far as I understand. I think they add a unique charm to the style. truly a special home and special time period.
