Phantom Falls is located atop Table Mountain Nature Preserve in Northern California. The falls are seasonal - and California has had a wet winter!
Table Mountain is a basaltic formation and the cracks and fissures in the surface allow seasonal creeks to form and patiently carve paths in the surface of the table top. This area of columnar basalt has been eroded by years of weather. Look at the giant undercut!
We had a nice hike to get here (and back) - the rest of the story is here: www.visionsinbuilding.com/Life/People/20170415-Hike-Table...
