homelessness in our county

    Newer Older

Homelessness is not homelessness. Not all homeless people are alike. Sometimes, families lose their houses due to fire, loss of income, or other circumstances. On the other end of the continuum are folks who have significant psychiatric needs, and who seem to have an affinity for the street. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but our county is dealing with a huge amount of homelessness, of all types. I wish there were more solutions.

There, but by the grace of God, go I.
I do not think there is a full solution
      to the problem.

It is a very interesting photo in many
      ways.

With the ecomonmy down, people who were on the edge have been pushed over. It is sad. I also wish their were more solutions.

We have these types in Germany too. You also see people who seem to have chosen to be on the streets but I don't think that is the majority. We don't seem to handle people who are different very well and a lot of psychological problems are caused by people being rejected for their difference. It makes me feel uncomfortable when people beg, I must admit.

I wonder if they exist in every society. Or, if the form of government/econony makes a difference.
