A fine ending to a fine day
I haven't had many really good days lately, but the day that ended with this picture was one of them. Not coincidentally, a good part of the day was taken up with photography, and it started and ended with photo outings at Usery Mountain Regional Park. The first one was sponsored by the park and was attended by about 20 people, including cobalt123 and a few other Flickr members (and other soon-to-be members as well, I believe). The second, just before sunset, was a solo venture. In between, I took my wife to lunch at an Italian restaurant, and then to the Chandler public library, where she checked out a few books and I paid about $5.60 in fines for her. I'm grateful that she felt well enough to get out for awhile.
A few minutes before I took this picture, I snapped another one of the same sunset, which will be posted later. That one was an accident, but this one was not. Apart from some minor adjustments in brightness and contrast, I did not edit this image before posting it here on Flickr. There were few clouds in the sky when I left the house that afternoon, and I did not expect to see much of a sunset; but this image ended up making my whole day.
Altogether, I took close to 300 pictures during the day's two Usery Park visits, although most of those were taken using my camera's bracketing feature, so I only pushed the shutter button perhaps 125 times. Over the next several days, I will be posting additional images from that visit, but I think I might end today's postings with this one. Somehow, to add anything else at the moment seems a bit inappropriate.
