We travelled a long way to get here for sunrise, which is pretty early in Spring in these parts. Driving the previous day from the Western side of Iceland, 12 hours on the road, checked into the hotel at 11pm, 90 minutes sleep, then another 150km to get here for 03:30. We found our spots, set up and waited for the morning sun. It's nice being all alone except for one or two other photographers enjoying the serene and beautiful views. I love how the sun list up the sand dunes and the ripples in them casting stripes of shadow. The very top of Vestrahorn and what’s left of the snowy peaks cast in a nice pink glow. What an awesome morning!
