Roosevelt Island and Bridges

This was shot on a walk across the Queensboro Bridge. You can see Roosevelt Island on the left and Queens on the right. You can also see the Roosevelt Island Bridge. That's the nearest one. Also visible are the Hellgate Bridge and the RFK Bridge, formerly known as the Triborough Bridge.

Although the only bridge to Roosevelt Island is from Queens, the island is considered part of Manhattan.

i just saw a picture of the abandoned psych. hospital on roosevelt island - have you ever seen it? photographed it?

@misanthrp: I've only been to Roosevelt Island once. I missed it then. It's on the northern end of the Island and I was mostly on the southern end. I did see the remains of the smallpox hospital, though, but it was undergoing some restoration.
