LA&L 425 storage track
When I arrived at the Lakeville shops in the morning the 420-428-425 were coupled together and idling outside the shops. It appeared that the LA&L would use 3 engines on the road train that morning. After stopping in the office and signing a release I waited in the parking lot for the power to move. Most of the guys were cleaning switches out so it would be a while before anything moved. After about 30 minutes the road power began to move, but not very far. The power pulled down to clear the lead to the storage track, where the parts engines are stored. The 420 was then parked on the storage track, then the 428-425 pulled back out. Then the 428-425 were taken back into the engine house. A few minutes later the 425 came back out by itself, coupled up to the 420 and then went down to pick up the outbound train. This all gave me a chance to shoot some different angles at the shops that don't normally occur. Of special note in this angle is the LA&L 20, now stored outside along the shops after spending years in storage in the old shop building in "downtown" Lakeville.
