Yup - miso and peppercorns in the water! I got a gift of 12 different peppercorns/pepper flakes from my MIL - need to figure out what to do with them (besides photograph) - any thoughts? Was thinking maybe pepper oil? Spoons were an Ebay find - a steal - and the surface is slate - ie the kind you would use for a cheese board.

Very beautiful! The spoons, the color, the dof, the composition - all of it.

This is also a nice one....I cook soup with white peppercorns, crush them and boil carrot, onion, potato and chicken (or pork bone) clear soup.

      Thanks again everyone!
Do you have a specific recipe or do you wing it? That sounds interesting.

Oh very easy, just boil about 2 pint of water, put in chicken or pork bone to boil for another 5 minutes. While waiting to boil, cut up 1 medium carrot (I cut in triangles), 2 medium onions (cut one onion into 6 pieces), 2 medium waxy potatoes (diced into say about 3 or 4 cm). Throw them all into the boiling soup, together with half teaspoon of crushed white peppercorn. Boil for another 20 minutes or until carrot and potato soften. Add say another half a teaspoon (or to taste) of salt and you're done. In Malaysia, we call them the ABC soup, cuz it's as easy as ABC to cook hehe...

That sounds pretty good! May give that a try. Sounds like a good soup for when you are not feeling well.
